During this time I have sampled various products from several vitamin and supplement companies. Right now, after losing 40lbs and competing in several figure competitions there are about four that I use religiously.
-Dymatize Iso-100 Protein Powder:
I use it because it is clean, it tastes great, mixes well on the go and keeps things simple. I like to mix 1/2 scoop Vanilla and 1/2 scoop chocolate together. Tastes great.
-1MR or Jackd3d for Pre-Workout:
My workouts tend to be in the afternoon after serving several clients, so I need a little power nap (sometimes!) followed by a pick me up. I use 1/2 serving as my system has proven to be quite sensitive to caffeine.
-Nutrilite Double X Vitamins:
I have used these for years and can literally tell when I don't take them. They are actually an Amway product. I am not a distributor, I just fell in love with the vitamins years ago and have never looked back.
-Scivation Xtend:
This BCAA drink was recommended to my by coach for Fitness Atlantic in 2010, Layne Norton. He has his PHD in Sports Nutrition and I really respect his research/opinions and practical experience as a IFBB Pro Bodybuilding Champion. I use Xtend in between meals during lower calorie leaning out phases and for during/post workout drink. It tastes great and really helps me maintain lean tissue while reducing body fat.
MY ISAGENIX EXPERIMENT COMMITMENT
Monday February 6, 2012-Wed, March 7, 2012
All of this aside, I have committed to use several Isagenix products for 30 days.
(Will list products later this week with beginning stats)
Why?
One year ago I experienced a very personal and traumatic event. One that carried with it a long season of grief and struggles I had never imagined I would ever encounter. I dropped 10lbs very quickly and it was not healthy. For months I had trouble eating, focusing and functioning. Then, when the shock started to wear off I returned to comfort foods more than I would like to admit...especially as a leader in the fitness industry.
I am humbled to say that, after on year I have put back on almost 8lbs but it's not muscle. I completely accept the process my body has gone through this past year and this is not an effort to cause any additional stress or bring back lofty competitive performance expectations. That is not healthy for me right now. I am doing this as recommended by a fellow competitor Oxygen cover model Lori Harder to invite balance and healthy products full of rich nutrients into my diet with consistency. I am not going to prep and carry six whole food meals/day with me during this season as a lifestyle. We are traveling more than ever and I want to find a few supplements for myself and my clients that are quick, easy and full of quality nutrients.
So..here goes!
